The London Tube Map is iconic. And the system of
subterranean railway lines that was pioneered here is very well known all
around the world. These underground lines stretch far out into the suburbs of
the London Metropolis. Many still run through the old Victorian tunnels. Apart
from the network of underground railway lines London boasts a system of all
pervasive public transport in the form of overground trains, commuter trains to
outlying areas, trams around Croydon and the no less iconic double-decker bus.
